After watching the Documentary "Just One of Those Things" I was super inspired to create this piece. Prior to doing the painting I was not aware of how much she loved and dedicated her life to performing. Ella's contributions played an integral role in the Jazz and Scat world. After the Painting was done I gifted it to my boss @CouncilwomanDeniseRidley who's is a fan of Ella's Legacy. This painting is comprised of a lot of emotional energy and it is always a great time when you can channel that onto canvas.
